This week, I’m continuing my love affair with every color of the rainbow. My 2nd favorite this season is Coral. Paired with royal blue or white, or even hot pink, coral is a little bit of flirty goodness in your spring wardrobe. I’m currently hunting for a pair of coral flats to replace the ones Rufus (my giant puppy) ate. Unfortunately, he also has a thing for vintage footwear.

Today in St. Louis it will be a mild forty-something degrees with a cool blast of wind every fifteen seconds. I’m definitely over it! Give me sunshine, poolside, BBQ, and sandals please! I’ve got the blues… in a good way. Royal Blue is huge this season! It is such a rich, bright shade + an excellent addition to any outfit. I love this shade of blue when paired or accessorized with another of our best brights: pink, yellow, kelly green, and red. Of course, a royal blue vintage piece is even better! If you’re still a little wary of braving bright pants but want to infuse a pop of color into your late winter wardrobe, try out a bright or two-toned vintage statement necklace. Pick a decade, jewelry designers are hardly color-shy. These are just a few of my personal favorites, but you can see more of my picks on Etsy.

Although it’s still chilly winter, it’s time to add a pop to color to our wardrobes, isn’t it? I’m guilty of draping myself in black (because it’s easy) throughout the colder months, but I’ve been craving some color! Throw on a pair of Rainbow-Brite-worthy pink pants with a black turtleneck + flats for a cute 60′s mod look, and bring your own bit of sunshine to the party. Oooh…sunshine = yellow pants?!? Maybe…

Beginning during WWII with parachute silk from an army surplus store, Vera Neumann created scarves worth coveting. Her vintage creations are aglow with pops of color, friendly florals and eye-widening geometric prints. She passed in 1993, but her legacy and creations live on in the hearts of vintage lovers.

I’m in love with the 1970′s throwback of high-waisted, wide-leg jeans. Those wide-legs make one heck of a statement, but keep it comfy and casual at the same time. I found a vintage pair at The Foundrie that magically fit + I may never take them off. (This never happens as I’m on the “vertically-challenged” end of things and tend to hem it up quite often) I thought the wide legs would shorten me even more, but instead- the high waist makes my legs look longer. I can assure you, my legs are delighted to escape the tight clutches of my skinny jeans.

Good quality + affordable vintage denim seems often difficult to find. Have you had luck scoring your own or re-making denim styles of the past?
